چکیده

Depigmented haloes sometimes appear around melanocytic tumors or non-melanocytic tumors, but coexistence of warts and depigmented haloes is extremely rare. We report here an unusual case of warts accompanied by depigmented haloes and subsequently-triggered generalized vitiligo. A 55-year-old Japanese man presented with a 3-year history of brown nodules on the back, upper eyelid and dorsum of the left hand. Depigmented haloes appeared around the noldules and then gradually spread over a wide area, resulting in the development of generalized vitiligo. He had no history of antecedent treatment for these lesions before consultation. Histopathologically, the lesion showed papillomatosis and hyperkeratosis with lymphocytic exocytosis into the epidermis, which compatible to warts. Based on these clinical and histopathologic findings, a diagnosis of warts with depigmented halo and subsequently-triggered generalized vitiligo was made. None of the warts had resolved spontaneously after the appearance of haloes, and the depigmented haloes and generalized vitiligo remain unchanged.

Development of Halo Nevus Around Nevus Spilus as a Central Nevus, and the Concurrent Vitiligo.

Halo nevus is a benign melanocytic nevus that is surrounded by a hypopigmented zone. The most frequent association with halo nevus is vitiligo, and this also appears in nearby regions, as well as at other remote sites. Although the mechanism for developing the depigmentation around nevus spilus is uncertain an immunologic process may be responsible for the finding of inflammatory infiltrates of...

Nevi presenting a halo: Sutton nevus, Meyerson nevus, and Wollina-Schaarschmidt halo-like dermatosis

The most common and well known is nevus Sutton or halo nevus first described in medical journals in 1916, where a hypopigmented area develops around a pre-existing melanocytic nevus. Halo nevi undergo specific sequelae: In Stage I the nevus remains brown, in stage II its pigment can disappear leading to a pink-colored papule. In stage III the central papule disappears, leading to a circular are...

Non-cultured autologous melanocytes of outer root sheath and bulge area transplantation for repigmentation of the stable generalized vitiligo patches: a pilot study

Background: Different modalities have been tried in order totreat stable vitiligo. Culturing melanocytes is time consumingand expensive. Therefore, new methods using autologousmelanocytes are sought. We aimed to compare the mixed nonculturedautologous melanocytes of the outer root sheath andthe bulge area of hair follicle transplantation plus dermabrasionwith dermabrasion alone in stable genera...

Colocalization of Vitiligo and Verrucous Epidermal Nevus: A Simulator of Depigmented Variant of Verrucous Epidermal Nevus

Vitiligo, an autoimmune disorder, is known to co-localize with other immunological disorders like lichen planus and psoriasis. However, there are no reports regarding the co-localization of an autoimmune disorder (vitiligo) and a developmental disorder (verrucous epidermal nevus). We hereby present a 10-month-old infant who was visited for white patches on the right buttock and adjoining antero...

Recipient site preparation for epidermal graft in stable vitiligo by a special fraise*

BACKGROUND The only approach used in the refractory lesions of stable vitiligo is the surgical supply of melanocytes. Suction Blistering Epidermal Graft is one of the most common and effective techniques. There are multiple modalities, including the motor-driven diamond fraise, for the preparation of recipient sites in suction blistering epidermal graft with different repigmentation rates and c...
